Farmhouse new build in Cross Ash
Cross Ash, Monmouthshire
A new farmhouse for Pearwood Projects on the site of the old one, faced in stone reclaimed from the original farmhouse.
Every stone on the outside was reclaimed from the farmhouse that stood here before, sorted and dressed by hand. The front door and window openings have arches in the farmhouse's own reclaimed bricks.
Blockwork inside and out, with stone covering about 90% of the exterior and three stone gables. In the summer heat the team started at 5:30am and kept the lime mortar covered and misted while it cured.
